FUN TIME AT MT. TALAMITAN

November 7-8, 2009 Location: Nasugbu, Batangas

It was another weekend and this time we are going to Nasugbu, Batangas to explore Mount Talamitan. Upon reaching the registration area in Sitio Bayabasan, we were greeted by another group who are set to start their trek. After registering, we proceeded and joined them at the back of the pack to begin the hike.

All I can say is that this is one of mountains really meant for fun. Blessed with good weather, we embraced the cleanliness and beautiful sceneries of this mountain. We deviated ourselves to rest and have more time in the area and not to pressure ourselves to reach the summit.

It took us three (3) hours to the top together with a crawl assault. We begin to pitch our tent and prepare things for dinner. This is also the first time we did not bring any canned foods. Our menu includes, spaghetti, grilled hotdog, fried lumpiang shanghai and salami.

We experienced the coldness of the night and decided to have our sharing session at the tent. A unique session and this time, we have more time to share and discuss things out of the ordinary. Thank you to Might Lazy boater turned for now as one of the Happy Hikers for his Chivas Regal. Too bad, we missed one of the Happy Hikers who are set to work on his change management ticket.

I woke up early but decided to be back on the bed and at around 5:30 AM I got out of the tent to feel the wind breeze of morning. The rest of the Happy Hikers woke up and now we are set to prepare breakfast. Our menu, grilled hotdog, adobong manok and yum-yum spaghetti.

At 8:30 AM, we break camp. More picture taking before we started the descent at 9:30 AM. It took us two (2) hours to reach the hall. At the hall, we freshen up while having a talk with Ate Mila and Bro. Ted of Concerned Citizen of Bayanihan Movement (CCBM). It was really great to know people who have direction in helping their barangay especially on the concern of environment.

We are set to leave and before taking a hitch to Tagaytay, we had buko at the side road. Bulalo will not be out, so we decided to have a break at Diner’s near the public market.

Indeed it was a fun-filled and meaningful hike.
