BOYS TALK AT PICO DE LORO

 February 6-7, 2010

It was a super weekend indeed for us. It started with the road trip going to Ternate for our scheduled climb in Mt. Palay-Palay (aka.Pico De Loro).  We were joined by three first timers, our trek started at 11:45AM. Our pace is not bad because we reached the campsite before 4:00PM. We camped at the bamboo-covered area again as we did last December. At 5:30PM, we started to hike to the summit to view the refreshing sunset. We headed back at the campsite after one hour.

From the time we hit road, the sharing session started. It was a great scene because we are five with different personalities and from this, you will hear unique perspectives for each question thrown.  This is so far our best dinner at the top of the mountain, we had Sinampalukang Manok with lots of vegetables. Also we had fruits, Melon plus Kiat-Kiat. Our drinks was superb, we had Coke, Pepsi, Apple and Strawberry Juice and Iced Tea.

All I can remember during that night was someone called “117” to seek for help. I will not drill down to the details. :-)  Our morning was weirder, the type of questions will test your manhood to the limits and it was a fun session. All said will remain hidden except the “117” thing.

At same time as yesterday, we started our downhill approach at 11:45AM and we reached DENR first at 2:15PM. But the rest of the team reached DENR at 3:30 PM because of some mysterious aura along the trail. Then we went straight to the Marines Beach Resort which is 12km (total) away from DENR.

It was a refreshing dip on the salt water and also we had a food blast (Noodles, Pancit Canton with chicken, 3 Months Corned Beef, Rice and Danggit).  At 6:30PM, we started our journey back to Manila where our birthday girl is already waiting and mad. Hehehe. We reached the venue at 9:00PM.

Definitely a super weekend indeed that ended 3:00AM, the next morning.  Till the next Boys Talk..

Location: Ternate, Cavite

  2. I believe it is still safe to trek the mountain. The grass fire was on the side of the summit.

We are planning again since this is the best mountain for begineers..95% of the trail are shaded.

parrok peak still intimidates some people :-)
