A DIFFERENT ANAWANGIN

April 18-19, 2009

The first plan was to go swimming last Holy week but due to schedule restrictions, the troop did not pursue the request.  We planned to have it on this dates. From a group of 10, it was trimmed down to just 7, but we were lucky enough to be joined by Mher/Obi's friends. So a total of 13 are set to trek onto the Pundaquit trails.

It was a new experience for the most but this is my third time in Anawangin, second time doing a hike.
Anawangin is different place now, the ever cleanest river at the back of the camp site is now a dirt river. Baseline barbwires are now everywhere. Cemented bathrooms are now on the way.

The most significant changed I've seen was the commercial stores in the area selling Halo-Halo and other items such as water, softdrinks, liquors and other stuffs.

Look at the hefty prices:
1.5 Liter of Softdrinks = 80
Halo-Halo = 30
Smallest Mineral Water = 25
Blue Water Container = 200
750mL Grand Matador = 120
Sugo Peanuts = 2
The prices are always double. Complaining will not change anything, it is the demand that dictates these changes. But still Anawangin is by far a beautiful place. Looking forward to hike again and change route going to Nagsasa Cove..  You might want to check baterya's ANAWANGIN COVE & PUNDAQUIT MOUNTAIN.

Location: Brgy. Pundaquit, San Antonio Zambales
