The Delight of Climbing A Mountain

Everytime you hear mountaineers talk about mountains; the discussion always turns into their hardest and highest mountain experiences. Remember when you had a climb and the aftermath is only to sleep after couple of minutes reaching the summit or cannot anymore do socials and unable to explore the area because of a feeling of pain. Hmm, that is something familiar to me and even to you. Well, climbing higher and hardest mountains is the norm accomplishment to everybody but having joy and happiness during the climb is something to look for.

One of the places that have the capacity to give this contentment is CALABARZON; Central Luzon had a fair share. For the past month, I’ve reached the mountains of Talamitan and last weekend, Manabu. These areas are more relevant to Manila and nearby residents. As of now, I can say that these mountains are superb for family bonding, team building, cookfest and a lot more.



A long and high altitude climb is synonymous to bringing more clothes, water and packed foods. I realized, a low altitude ascent would be synonymous to bringing more exciting foods to cook, more stories to share, more games to play.



That is the delight of climbing a mountain, different perspectives, random thoughts, grandest nature views, beautiful sunsets/sunrise and friendship.

"One More Chance"

This was written way back October 5, 2008. I really want to write something for past three days now but my mind cannot hit the right keystrokes. So I decided to repost this coming from my Multiply site. It is about the movie "One More Chance".

This “One More Chance” thing started when we were at Cyrus house after our first Tagaytay trip (September 29-Monday). Before we headed home, we decided to watch the one-year old movie. Honestly, I have never seen this movie. I had seen some homegrown movies but not with John Lloyd and Bea team-up. At halfway point, the sun is rising and we need move fast. (Nabitin kami-hehehe).

Since it was a holiday on Oct 1 (Wednesday), the group planned a Tagaytay trip again. Ngayon anim na kami, may nadagdag sa group. After we got our rooms, we went to their cinema-like room, laki ng screen and dim ang lights.. (hehehe – joke lang yan ha)..

Anyway, the main story is about the movie. So we played the movie and ayun, napapalibutan kami ng silence. Naalala ko tuloy nung nasa Anawangin kami.. Akalain mo ba naman, simula pa lang kinikilig na. Hahaha. Mahirap din kasi manood mag-isa, mahirap tumawa magisa, umiyak mag-isa, makaramdam ng kilig magisa..mahirap un ha..Eh eto na ang pagkakataon, sa laki ng group, di mahahalatang lumuluha ka na.

At that moment, you are part of group that is enjoying a very good movie. Almost all are perfect; scripts, acting, cinematography, director, everything and everyone else.

There is where we got the names of Popoy and Basha. Popoy is intended to our macho-gwapitong AVP. He is looking for his future Basya. Mag-aantay pa sya ng 2-years sabi nya. Some of us can relate to the movie, it was more of a general love story here in our country. Lhat nakakarelate. Isa-isahan natin, wag magagalit ung tatamaan ha.

Popoy

- Ako ang unang bagong tao sa bago mong buhay (tama ba to?) hehe
Eto ata yung lumipat sya ng opisina.

- Minsan, it’s better for two people to break-up so they can grow up. It takes grown ups to make relationships work.
This line really speaks for itself.

Popoy: She had me at my worst; you had me at my best. But binalewala mo lang lahat yun.
Basha: Popoy yun ba talaga tingin mo? I just made a choice.

Popoy: Baka kaya tayo iniwan ng mga taong mahal natin kasi baka merong bagong dadating na mas OK, na masmamahalin tayo, yung taong di tayo sasaktan at paaasahin, yung nag-iisang tao na magtatama ng mali sa buhay natin, ng lahat ng mali sa buhay mo.

Two thumbs up. Sana may next time, a new movie..Sana sinehan na..Dun tayo, kasama natin lahat ng Kilig Fans.
